Learning to Speak Japanese
I started learning Japanese six months ago because I love Japanese anime and want to understand it without subtitles. I use an app every day to learn new words—“konnichiwa” (hello), “arigatou” (thank you)—and practice writing hiragana. It’s hard at first—some words sound nothing like they look—but I keep practicing. Last month, I watched an episode of my favorite anime without subtitles, and I understood a few sentences! I was so excited, I told my friend right away. I also started listening to Japanese music; it helps me get used to the sound of the language. Learning Japanese is a slow process, but every small win feels like a big achievement. I hope one day I can visit Japan and talk to the locals.
